This is to see if this posts to my livejournal like it should.
Too old to be a therian?
I was going to paste a picture of the poll here but I found that it may be against the TOS for werelist.com so her is a link to it. Basically for those that do not want to become a member of werelist to view the poll about 91% of the members that took the poll were under the age of 31 as of 12/29/2009. Now, I do understand that the Internet is the place of the young, but I really have a hard time thinking that “experts” know what the heck they are talking about, when they barely know how to live life on their own as it is. I think this confirms the feeling that I had that all the site is, is a bunch of kids “finding themselves” and how neat it is to be therian vs being a site that have been living this way for years.
Maybe I am getting to the point in my life where I don’t need people to confirm my beliefs. I am what I am. And I will have to figure out what I am going to do while I am alive.
Snaaaaaakkkkkkkeeeeeeee!
The last few weeks I have been clearing the land at my house. Yesterday being a cold day I looked down and saw something that look alive curled up at the base of a tree I was cutting down. As you can see, I did catch something. A small snake. Yes, “should” not have messed with it, but if I did not move it, it would have been likely to have gotten me later when I was not looking as closely. I took a ‘Y’ stick and caught it behind the head and escorted it off to the land next to me. I hope it does not come back. Not sure what it was. It’s tail kinda looked like a ratter but it did not act like one. Ah well. It is gone now.
This will be my primary blog
After much thinking, I think I will make this my primary blog about stuff. Why? My old blog was hosted on LiveJournal and while the site is great and still is, I don’t see the point of paying for it. Therefor I am just going to let the account downgrade to a basic account, maybe basic plus, and just use my domain to post what I want. I don’t have to worry about the admins changing anything so it might be for the best.
Simple things
Today when I was taking a small walk outside of my workplace, I noticed something odd. Normally Azalea bushes are, well bushes. It seems that the team that works on the plants felt that this little bush should be able to keep it’s flower. I’m glad they did as it was a lovely thing to see this early in the morning.
Foxkeh’s Blog
I know this blog is on redfox.org so I figure I might as well post about foxes once and a while. Below is a link to the Foxkeh blog. This is a unoffical mascot of Firefox web brower. He really kinda cute and I personllay love the wall paper. You might want to love the little guy too.
Where did the road go?
For the last week or so we have been getting a lot of rain. Normally this time of the year we get about 3 inches a month. So far we have gotten about 8 inches this week. As you can see we have lost the road to my house again. At least this year since I have my “little” truck, I don’t have to worry as much about getting stuck. Just floating away!
At least I am still getting my mail and garbage pickup. Can’t complain much about that.
You know you are rural when. . .
I’ll let the image say it all.
Tech changes to the server
I know most of you don’t care but incase something “weird” happens. I have updated wordpress with a couple of new plug-in.
First is WP Super Cache which helps speed the system with caching.
The other is mod_rewrite so now I can have what I like to call “pretty” URLS like look like this (http://www.redfox.org/2009/04/22/tech-changes-to-the-servertech-changes-to-the-server/) in stead of http://www.redfox.org/?=123
Another landmark
About a week ago (Hey, I try to update this when I can) I noticed that my “Lil Truck” was about to hit 36,000 miles. My lil truck is a GMC Canyon that I got back in 2007 and it is nicknamed lil truck because is an clone in body style and colour to my wife’s Sierra, just smaller and without four wheel drive. When I first got it I was kinda surprised at myself. I have always owned imports, and the imports have always treated me well for the most part. The only part where they “failed” is the road that I need to drive in on. It is a very hard, bumpy, muddy, rutted road and I would not change it because it keeps people from coming to my house unless they really want to visit me. That being said, I has broken my CR-V twice on that road and the last time it would have costed me $6,000 to fix it again. That is why I moved to a truck. Imports don’t make small trucks. They make truck like cars and big trucks. And with the minor issues we have had with the Sierra I felt I should get a “real” truck that I can’t hurt. So far it is has not let me down.
So here I am, 36,000 miles later and I still love my lil truck. It’s mpg might only be 24, but at least I know there is very little that can hurt her.
